The season is coming up fast. It's the middle of September and
everyone here is getting ready. We here at Philo's are working on our new store and
concierge service. Sort of a "Philo's O'brians." T-shirts, caps,
CDs, Philo's Tequila, hand made Jewelery, etc.
Should be fun, but we are up in the air about how
many people to expect this year. The following paragraph is from the sailing
magazine Latitude 38, my favorite rag in the whole world. This comes from the
article describing the Mexico Cruisers Rally that is mostly a jumping off cruise, for
people that are either moving to Mexico or staying in Mexico for their new cruising life.

As of today, the Baja Ha-Ha has received 186 paid
entries, and several more are expected. This means the old entry record of 183 has been
eclipsed. This comes as a pleasant surprise to the Grand 'worst case scenario' Poobah who,
back in May, feared the entry list might be as low as 100 boats because of the poor
economy. If the big new number is an indication that the economy is rebounding, we
couldn't be happier for everyone."
Since there has been so much debate about health
insurance in the U S, I thought I would send an article that my friend Donny sent me.
It's all about IMSS, (Mexican Social Security health ins.), and how it works.
Seems like people are moving to Mexico just because of this. You can join even
on a tourist visa, however you must be in Mexico to use it. I belong to the IMSS and
it cost me less than $300 per year. It's probably a good back up even if you
have a good Insurance policy. Check it out. It's a great article.
Mexico City It sounds almost too good to be
true: a health care plan with no limits, no deductibles, free medicines, tests, X-rays,
eyeglasses, even dental work all for a flat fee of $250 or less a year.

To get it, you just have to move to Mexico. www.banderasnews.com/0909/hb-mexhealthcare.htm
And, once again, Christmas is coming up. For
all of you who are coming back soon, don't forget the kids. Every year Santa visits
Philo's and gives out gifts to the local children. Stocking stuffers work the best.
And don't forget to check for the electronic games that the kids have out grown.
There are so many kids here who just can't afford those things. Maybe you know
someone like that who can donate their game to a kid in Mexico.

Santa and the kids by clicking HERE.
