Brrrrr.....I'm in Bend Oregon visiting my friend and web master Rodger Layng and it's 61 degrees outside.  Last week they tell me it was over 100 degrees.  Wow what a change.

After leaving the "Gathering" I headed north to visit Leon and Peggy in Springfield, then on to Belnap Springs to visit with Russell and Lori and play some music at the resort where they are working.  They were all great hosts and I had a wonderful time.

I was going to fill you all in on the fun time we all had at the "Gathering of the Tribe" music event but after reading my friend Hudd's letter to my web site Guest Book I decided to print that instead.  Soooo..... here it is folks.

Well ...anyone who missed the GATHERING OF THE TRIBE.....missed the show of a lifetime....there was not a telecaster on stage newer than 1962....starting in 54...really ...thats 1954...back then they were called broadcasters...not a stratocaster in sight...
philo hired a $30,000 sound system...(note. PA was donated by Matt Rowland.  Thanks buddy), and it was impeccable...AND THE CROWD WENT WILD....well that happened all day and night...there were a lot of bands... but the creme de la creme was all the individual musicos that philo added to the MEXICAN SHUFFLE BAND band and FEATURED as soloists that really made it cook.....where did they come from....out of the woodwork...whoops....that would be out of the redwoods.... what a show...doesn't get any better than this,,,,special thanks to ALL of philo's friends that showed up to play with him...the venue was provided by doc RICK...lets have a big hand for him and hope he will let us come back next year....the sound man was very generous and provided incredible equipment....saludos...
BUT THERE'S MORE....philo ...of course ...was his usual generous self....put all this together...travelled miles...and miles...and miles

BROKE all the ladies hearts...
and performed as we all know and expect of him...HE'S GOT IT ...

Just to let you know, we took in just under a thousand dollars in donations after expenses.  This money will go directly to J C's two favorite charities.  One for the music program in the local schools and the other for underprivileged children in the area.  Thanks everyone.
