NOTES ARCHIVE

July 15, 2009

Heads up everyone.  Alfredo Sanchez (Keyboardist), Carlos Avilez (bassist), Daniel Kitroser (Drummer) and Armando Chong (Guitarist), all musician friends of my friend and fellow band member Oscar Fuentes, will be joining us this Friday for an all star jam here at Philo's.  Music will start around 9 pm.

These guys are all famous musicians from Guadalajara.  I've watched all these guys play and I think you will enjoy hearing them very much.  Try and make it if you can.

Just two more weeks and I'll be heading North to the good old USofA again.  This time to the "Gathering of the Tribe" music event which will be held on the Saturday and Sunday the 1st and 2nd of August in Albion, near Mendocino California.

The location for the event will be held on "H" road which is off of "Albion Ridge Road" in Albion, about 20 minutes from the town of Mendocino.  Balloons and other things will mark the spot.

There will be some limited camping as well as places to park your RVs.  For those who are planning to come, and need hotel rooms just "google" hotels Mendocino, Fort Bragg

Sally Stewart's Salon and Day Spa, "Southern Exposure", located next to the Mendocino Hotel in beautiful downtown Mendocino, will have John Chamberlin fliers with information on the event and directions to the event.   Stop by and pick one up, if not for the directions at least get one for a souvenir.   John's posters are famous.

The flier will have such info as when, where, how, contact numbers, pot luck, BBQs provided, bring your own drinks, etc.

Go to the links page of Sally's web site.   It's loaded with good info on and about Mendocino, including info about hotels.

If you need to get in touch with me I will have a cell phone while I am in the States.   The number is 805 583 9574.

But wait.  There's more.  Do to a scheduling conflict the benefit music night at the Fort Bragg Senior Center has been postponed until my next visit to Mendocino.  Bummer.

and remember...

I'll be your friend
till the bitter end,
no matter what I'll go through
I'll be a good friend to you.

And when you grow old
and you can't see,
I'll be your eyes
you can depend on me.

And when your hands get gnarled
and your knees grow week
I'll be your crutch
you can lean on me.

From the song, "I'll be your friend" by yours truly
