Another year and another great party at Philo's. This time
celebrating the 8th anniversary of Philo's Restaurant, Bar and Music Studio. We also
celebrated my birthday, Rita's birthday, as well as Teapot Tony's birthday.
Lots of very cool Music. The famed Guitarist, Achim
set in with the band "Rock of Ages" substituting for Russell who's on vacation
in Montana. "Joe King Carrasco," the King of Tex Mex came by and charmed the
pants off everyone with his unique versions of "Texas Tornado's" songs. All in
all everyone had a wonderful time including me. Thanks everyone for coming and helping us
celebrate.

Speaking of the party, Rodger has posted pics of
the party under the photos section. Just click HERE.
We have firmed up the dates. The "Gathering of the Tribe" music event will be
held on the 1st and 2nd of August in Albion, near Mendocino California.
The musicians are checking in as we speak. So far we are expecting about 10 to 12 acts and
about 2 to 3 hundred people. Should be a good one folks. And if you have never been to
Mendocino or seen this part of the country you are in for a real treat.
And....... although this one is free, we will be asking for donations which will go to a
charity, that my friend John Chamberlin is picking out now. So hey..... if we are all
receiving so much joy from hanging out together and enjoying all this great music then
shouldn't we be giving back a little to those who have so much need? Si, I think so......
The location for the event will be held on "H" road off of "Albion Ridge
Road" about 20 minutes from the town of Mendocino. Balloons and other things will
mark the spot.
There will be some limited camping as well as places to park your RV's. For those who are
planning to come, and need hotel rooms just "google" hotels Mendocino, Fort
Bragg. Stay tuned for more information as we get closer to the dates.
But wait. There's more. For those of you who will be in the Mendocino area Friday night,
the 30th of July, "Philo and the Mexican Shuffle Band" will be hosting a benefit
music night at the Fort Bragg Senior Center. All proceeds will go to the Senior Center.
More details to follow.
and remember...............
Love is a friendship set to music.
