Well, my sea bag is packed and I'm ready
for my long slog up the coast to Santa Cruz Ca. with my good friends Dan
and Joe and Chris. I have my fingers crossed hoping for good weather. And
believe me, it's hard to type with your fingers crossed. Just wanted to
let everyone know that there will be music here at Philo's every Thursday , Friday and
Saturday night while I am gone. Thursday nights (open mic night), will feature
Nick, Mike and Carlos. Friday night, Achim and Allessandra will be playing.
And Saturday night will be Al and Zoe's night. Please come by and support
them. They will love you for it.
Here's some more cool news. We are now
serving Pita Pesto Pizza. It's delicious. Fresh made pesto sauce on pita bread
with your favorite toppings. The salads are tasty too.
Special kudos to La Cruz Marina folks for helping
out the community during it's time of need.
Collection points have been set up in different
areas around the Bay for food donations for the many people who are out of work due to the
flu threat and the economy. In conjunction with DIF (Mexican Social Services for
Families), food packages are being assembled containing beans (dry, not canned), rice,
lentils (dry), bouillon cubes and pasta (dry, soup pasta, packaged). If you can donate one
item or many, please bring them to the La Cruz Marina. This will be a summer-long
assistance program to help local people.
and remember...............
Come on little girl,
pack up your sea bag.
We''ll head down to the Ocean,
catch us a ride.
We'll find us an Island,
with some coconut trees.
Sing some Polynesian songs,
let the world go by.
From the song "Buddies in the
saddle" by yours truly.
Don't worry, be hippie
